The Mermaid of Zennor

There once lived a handsome young man, who was fascinated by the ocean. As well as his love for the ocean, he loved to sing. He had a beautiful singing voice that could enchant any girl.
One day, the man was sitting on a rock near the waters edge singing his beautiful song. All of a sudden, a beautiful woman rose from the water, wearing a long blue-green dress. “Excuse me sir,” the woman said, “your voice has enchanted me, would you mind singing me a song?” The man thought this woman was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and so how could he say no? As the woman sat beside him, he began to sing to her. As he looked into her eyes, he fell deeply in love with her.
Not long later, the man and woman were married and living happily in a house just by the water. Soon, they had a baby. It was a beautiful baby boy, but the woman was ashamed of it. She would not let anyone see him, and so she took the baby boy in her arms and walked into the water. The man tried to stop her, but she would not listen. He sat on the very same rock were he had first seen his wonderful wife, and waited for her to rise back up from the water. For three days he waited, but the women never returned. People came up to him and told him that she must have drowned, and that there was no point waiting anymore. But the man was madly in love with the woman, and so one day, he stood up and walked into the water after her. He was never seen again.

EduBlogs Challenge #7 - The Environment

For the Edublogs Challenge this week, I chose to make a mini movie about the Environment. I used this really cool website called Xtranormal. It was really fun and easy to make; all you basically have to do is type the monologue. Anyway, check it out.

ImageChef Word Mosaic - ImageChef.com

For the Challenge this week, I chose to make a wordle for my blog. I used the ImageChief website, which I think is one of the better websites to use when making wordles.

EduBlogs Challenge #5 - Zoom Post 2

Last year during the challenge, this activity came up, and I chose to do it. It was a huge sucess, so when I had the chance to do it again, I thought, 'Why not?' So that is what I am doing for this weeks Challenge.

Original description:
We tried this activity in the last challenge in September. Choose a picture, and have your readers zoom out, so to speak, by leaving comments. So maybe something simple, like a pillow, and the first commenter describes something bigger around the pillow (like a couch) and the next commenter would write about the room it was in, and the next could zoom out the window and do the house, etc.  If doing this activity, include the word ‘zoom’ in your title so I can find it easily. Remember to give attribution. Most important here is to read previous comments, so you can add to the story.

It is really fun to do, and when you contribute, it is even better. So this is the picture I have chosen to do:

Everyone seems to cringe at the sound of Fingernails on Blackboards, and I thought it would be something a little different.

Please contribute by leaving comments, and if you haven't already seen my original Zoom Post then please check it out.
